This week, residents are asked to check their homes for children’s items and food products. Some pose injuries such as entanglement, entrapment, and fall hazards, while others may be contaminated with bacteria that can make you sick.

Shandi 0-25Kg Big Space Electric Baby Crib Cradle Infant Rocker

Shandi 0-25Kg Big Space Electric Baby Crib Cradle Infant Rocker Auto Swing Bed Baby Cradle.

The recall includes the Shandi 0-25 kg auto swing bed— a pink, foldable, and portable electric cradle. It features five swing speeds, 12 built-in songs, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.

Health Canada’s evaluations have found that these cradles do not comply with its Cribs, Cradles, and Bassinets Regulations. Specifically, the product contains a restraint system, which is not allowed as it poses many safety risks and injuries.

The company reported that 20 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between January 2023 and April 2024.

Health Canada notes on its website that the safest sleeping arrangement for a baby is on its back on a firm, flat surface specifically designed for sleep.

Risks: Poses entanglement and strangulation hazards to infants.

What you should do: Stop using the product and contact Yi Xiang Shang E-commerce Co., Ltd. for a full refund.

As of April 18, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Crate & Barrel Hampshire cribs

Hampshire Cozy Grey Crib

The cribs are available in natural brown, grey, olive, white, and blush. The product SKU number is on a sticker on the mattress support board.

The following products are affected by the recall:

  • Hampshire Cozy Grey Crib—SKU:405394
  • Hampshire Natural Crib—SKU:246898
  • Hampshire Olive Crib—SKU:534758
  • Hampshire White Crib—SKU:534987

The issue with the product is that the crib mattress supports can become loose, dislodged, or damaged.

The company reported that approximately 120 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 2,600 were sold in the United States between June 2022 to November 2023.

Risks: Potential fall and entrapment hazard to children.

What you should do: Discontinue using the recalled products and contact Crate & Barrel for a repair or a refund.

As of March 27, 2024, the company has recorded two incidents in Canada involving faulty screws on the mattress support in cribs, with one report of damage to the mattress support but no injuries. In the United States, there have been 12 reports of the mattress support becoming loose or dislodged, one report of damage, and no reported injuries.

Children’s Hooded Bathrobe

Children’s Hooded Bathrobe

This recall concerns the bathrobes which are available for purchase online at Temu.com, identified by the barcode 4156793706, which is located on the transparent packaging bag.

The following robe is affected by the recall:

  • White—156793706. Sizes: Small – XL

Health Canada’s assessments have found that these children’s sleepwear products do not meet the flammability standards required by the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations.

Loose-fitting sleepwear poses a higher risk of catching fire from sources like stove elements or candles, which can lead to severe burns over large areas of a child’s body.

The company reported that 16 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between November 2023 to March 2024.

Risks: Poses flammability hazard.

What you should do: Stop using the recalled product, ensure it is out of children’s reach, and safely dispose of it.
