RECALL: Windshield washer fluid pulled from shelves in Canada

A certain type of windshield washer fluid has been recalled in Canada.

Health Canada issued a notice on Monday which said that McDade Auto -40 Windshield Washer Solvent is the affected product.

It has the UPC number 8 50051 57531 2.

Officials said that there were 132,132 units of the product sold in Canada from October to December.

It doesn’t meet child-resistant packaging requirements, Health Canada said.

“The lack of child-resistant packaging could result in unintended exposure to the products and lead to serious illness, injury or death,” the notice said.

As of Dec. 22, the company hasn’t received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, the notice added.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled McDade Auto -40 Windshield Washer Solvent and dispose of it according to municipal hazardous waste guidelines,” Health Canada said.
