A recall has been issued for more than 5,600 vehicles in Canada.
Transport Canada said in a notice that a software problem may cause the vehicles’ instrument cluster to not display when the vehicle is started.
“As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, gear selection indicators, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales,” the notice said.
“Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don’t display could increase the risk of a crash.”
The recall is from Nissan and the 2025 and 2026 Kicks models are impacted.
There are 5,640 vehicles affected in Canada, the notice said.
Nissan will notify owners about the problem by mail.
They will be advised to take their SUV to a dealership so the instrument cluster software can be updated.
