Thousands of power adapters have been recalled because officials say they pose a burn and fire hazard.

Health Canada said in a recall notice that 7,226 of the affected products were sold in Canada from April 2010 to May 2019.

The recall involves Yamaha Corporation PA-300C AC Power Adaptors, officials said.

It was sold with digital instruments and musical products; it wasn’t sold on its own at retail, the notice said.

It is also built in to certain Yamaha Clavinova CLP and CVP series digital pianos.

“PA-300C AC Power Adaptors may have an issue with the DC plug generating abnormal heat,” the recall said.

“Continuing abnormal heat generation may lead to melting, smoke, or ignition posing a burn and fire hazard. As of May 27, 2025, the company has received 1 reported incident and no reports of injuries in Canada.”

Consumers were advised to immediately stop using the adaptors and contact Yamaha to get a replacement or have their product serviced.

The company can be reached at 416-708-1945, or a form can be filled out here.
