RECALL: Salmonella concerns prompt more food recalls in Canada

Salmonella concerns have prompted more food recalls in Canada.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced that more pumpkin seeds are affected.

It comes after the agency announced a recall involving Organic Traditions brand Jumbo Pumpkin Seeds.

One of the latest notices involves Schalk Mühle brand Organic Austrian Pumpkin Seeds.

The agency said that notice is directed to warehouses, with the product size being 25 kg, having no UPC code, and the lot number 248964, best before date of 31.10.2026 and reference number 248964-5001-01.

They were distributed in Ontario and Quebec.

The other recall notice involves organic pumpkin seeds that were sold in Ontario.

Officials said it was triggered by a recall in another country, adding there have been no reported illnesses in Canada.

“Do not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute recalled products,” the agency said.

“Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” the CFIA added.
