RECALL: Nearly 14,000 vehicles need to be taken to dealership in Canada, Ford Lincoln

More than 1,800 vehicles have been recalled in Canada due to a possible issue with their brakes.

“On certain vehicles, the brake booster input rod may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the input rod could detach from the brake booster and cause a loss of brakes,” Transport Canada said in a notice.

“A loss of brakes can increase the risk of a crash,” officials added.

The recall is from Volkswagen and the 2019 to 2024 (inclusive) Audi E-Tron models are affected.

Officials said this recall is an expansion of a previous one, with Transport Canada recall no. 2024-670.

For the 2020 to 2024 model years, the recall includes both sportback and SUV models.

The notice said there are 1,860 vehicles that are affected in Canada.

Audi will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership.

There, the brake booster input rod screw joint will be inspected and, if needed, tightened.
