More than 1,000 vehicles have been recalled in Canada because their brake pedals could fail, officials say.
“On certain vehicles, the brake pedal could fail while braking. If this happens, you would not be able to apply the brakes,” Transport Canada said in a notice.
“A loss of brakes can increase the risk of a crash.”
The recall is from Fiat Chrysler and involved the 2024 Dodge Hornet and 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale models.
There are 1,068 vehicles impacted in Canada.
Officials said this is an expansion of a previous recall.
Fiat Chrysler will be notifying owners by mail and advising them to take their SUV to a dealership.
There, the brake pedal arm will be reinforced.
