Panasonic toaster oven recall Canada

A kitchen appliance has been recalled in Canada because it poses a shock hazard, officials say.

Health Canada said issued a notice Thursday about a certain toaster oven.

“The power cord insulation may be insufficient due to a protective fiberglass sleeve not covering it adequately, which poses an electrical shock hazard to consumers,” the notice said.

The recall involves the Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Oven.

Two model numbers are included: NB-G205S, which is the Canadian model, and NB-G200SVA, which is the U.S. model.

The model number is on the product label, which can be found on the back of the oven.

The ovens have a stainless steel trim and use double infrared heat to cook food.

There were 2,184 sold in Canada from November 2025 until March 2026; 11,500 were sold in the United States.

They were manufactured in China.

“As of June 15, 2026, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada,” Health Canada said.

“In the United States, the company has received five reports of circuit breaker tripping incidents involving the US model, but no incidents of shock or fire and no reports of injuries.”

Consumers are being advised to immediately stop using the toaster ovens.

They can be returned to Panasonic for a refund.

Panasonic Canada can be reached by phone at 1-888-422-6296 or consumers can visit the company’s website.

“Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada,” Health Canada said.
