Certain vehicles have been recalled in Canada because of an issue that could leave passengers trapped in a seat.
“On certain vehicles, when using the power folding function, the third-row seats may not automatically reverse if an obstruction is detected,” Transport Canada said in a notice.
“As a result, occupants or objects could become trapped between the seat and the seatback…. A folding seatback that doesn’t reverse could increase the risk of injury.”
The recall is from General Motors and involves the 2026 and 2027 Cadillac VISTIQ SUV.
There are 1,451 vehicles impacted in Canada, according to the notice.
General Motors will notify owners about the problem by mail.
A dealer will disable the third-row power folding function as an interim repair.
“Once replacement parts are available, General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the third-row seat module,” Transport Canada said.
