RECALL: More than 5,000 vehicles recalled in Canada

There are more than 5,000 Ford SUVs being recalled in Canada over a safety concern.

As always, Transport Canada is overseeing the recall process to ensure compliance.

See below for more information on the recall, including the affected models, years and the issue prompting the action.

The affected models are:

Ford Flex (2016–2019)

Total units affected: 5,302

According to Transport Canada, the recall affects certain Ford Flex SUVs from the 2016 through 2019 model years.

On certain vehicles, the exterior B-pillar trim on the front and rear driver-side and passenger-side doors may not be properly attached. As a result, the trim could loosen and separate from the vehicle.

Transport Canada said the current recall replaces recall No. 2025-588.

Safety risk: Detached trim could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash.

What you should do: Ford will notify affected owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to have the exterior B-pillar trim secured. The repairs will be carried out at no cost to owners.

Owners are encouraged to arrange for the repair once they receive their recall notice. Although the recall applies to certain 2016 through 2019 Ford Flex SUVs, owners should verify their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to determine whether their specific vehicle is included.
