Certain “dairy-free” ice cream has been recalled in Ontario because it may contain milk, officials say.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a notice Tuesday that Delight Chocolate brand Dairy-free Chocolate vegan ice cream is the affected product.

Two sizes are impacted: one that is 500 ml and has the UPC number 6 27987 19729 7, as well as a 112 ml size that doesn’t have a UPC number.

The ice cream was sold in Ontario and online.

The CFIA said that the recall was triggered by a consumer complaint.

“There have been reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products,” the agency said.

Consumers are being advised to see if they have the recalled ice cream.

“Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction,” the CFIA said.

“Do not serve, use, sell or distribute recalled products. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.”

The CFIA said it’s conducting a food safety investigation, which could lead to more products being recalled.

The agency said it’s verifying that the affected ice cream is being removed from the marketplace.
