A large recall has been issued that impacts more than 13,000 vehicles in Canada.
“On certain vehicles, the engine may not have been manufactured properly,” Transport Canada said in a notice.
“As a result, metal debris could cause the crankshaft bearings to fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start. This could also cause the engine to stall while driving….
“A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.”

The recall is from Toyota and involves the following models:
- Toyota Tundra — 2023 and 2024
- Lexus LX 600 — 2023 and 2024
- Lexus GX 550 — 2024
There are 13,164 vehicles in Canada that are affected.
Officials said the recall only involves certain vehicles that have a 3.4 L twin-turbo engine.
Transport Canada said this recall is an expansion of a previous one, numbered 2024-304.
Toyota will notify owners by mail, though the fix for the problem is still being developed, officials said.
