Don't drive these vehicles amid urgent recall in Canada, Ford Bronco Sport, Maverick

Certain vehicles should not be driven amid an urgent recall in Canada, officials say.

Transport Canada said in a notice that the front lower ball joint(s) on the affected vehicles may not have been installed properly on the steering knuckle(s).

“As a result, the front lower ball joint(s) could separate and cause a loss of steering control…. A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash,” officials said.

The recall is from Ford and involves the following models / model years:

  • BRONCO SPORT — 2021 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026
  • MAVERICK — 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026

There are 815 vehicles impacted in Canada.

“To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to drive your vehicle until the recall repairs are completed,” the notice said.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise them to contact a dealer to arrange for an inspection.

“The dealer will repair the front steering knuckle(s), as necessary,” the notice said.
