Certain flour has been recalled in Canada.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a notice that it’s being pulled from shelves “due to the presence of insects.”

The affected product is the PTI brand Besan Chick Pea Flour.

It’s 1.8 kg in size, has the UPC number 8 28158 15101 2 and the recall applies to the following code: SEP 2027.

It was distributed online, as well as in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

It’s a “class 3” recall, which applies to cases where “there is a low risk that consuming the food may result in any undesirable health problems,” the CFIA website says.

“This class also includes food that do not pose a health risk, but that do not comply with legislation,” it says.

Consumers were advised to not use the recalled flour.
