Fire, abandoned, house, Victorian, no injuries, attic, blaze, defensive, Streetsville, Mississauga.

A Mississauga fire station has a new look, and members of the public are invited to check it out.

The newly upgraded Fire Station 108 is 2267 Britannia Road West and now includes:

  • Decontamination facilities are designed to reduce exposure to harmful contaminants and improve firefighter health and safety.
  • Separated, ventilated gear storage rooms to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper airflow.
  • Fitness room to support firefighter wellness and physical readiness.
  • Dedicated training and meeting space for ongoing professional development.
  • Modern amenities to enhance comfort and functionality for daily operations.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, an open house will be held at the station for community members from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Opening ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. with Mayor Carolyn Parrish in attendance along with Ward 11 Brad Butt.

The firefighters who will work out of the station will also be available to meet guests.

Parking is limited at the fire station; however, there are available options nearby.
