The unusually heavy rainfall being experienced in Oakville has forced the closure of natural grass sports fields again today, July 16.
The Town of Oakville sent out a notice informing leagues and participants that, “due to rainfall saturation, our natural grass sports fields and baseball diamonds are closed again today. Artificial turf fields remain open for permitted users.”
Field were also closed yesterday.
In addition, Conservation Halton has issued flood warnings for local waterways, suggesting people use extra caution and keep an eye on young children.
Oakville has also closed a pair of other facilities due to the high water levels, Lions Valley Park and the Coronation Park beach volleyball courts.
