In the coming days, Hamilton will add to its hockey history as both the National Hockey League and Ontario Hockey League play outdoor games at Tim Hortons Field.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres will meet in the middle and go head-to-head in the NHL Heritage Classic on Sunday afternoon. The following night, the Hamilton Bulldogs will host the Oshawa Generals in the OHL Outdoor Showcase.
Despite not currently having an NHL team, Hamilton is rich in hockey history — producing 61 NHL players (52 skaters, 9 goaltenders), including 10 Stanley Cup champions and five Hall of Fame players.
