An insecure load spotted by police in Oakville has led to charges for a truck driver and his company during Canada Road Safety Week.
Halton Regional Police Services Constable Marc Taraso pulled over the truck with a trailer in tow on Thursday morning on Dundas St.
Cst. Taraso noticed an insecure load of cement bags in the bucket of the skid steer and decided to bring the truck in for an inspection by a Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) certified inspector.
And…. Two flat tires on the truck
Both vehicles Out Of Service (OOS); the company and driver charged accordingly. #RoadSafety pic.twitter.com/ESs4XNYpas

Upon inspection, several defects were found on the truck and trailer. Secondary chains were not properly secured, while a tire was found to be torn through the belting on the trailer.
The trailer brakes were inoperative, while there were also no trailer stop lamps. The truck also had two flat tires.
The driver had both an expired validation and insurance card an improper “pre trip.”
Both the truck and trailer have been ‘put out of service’ and the company and driver have been charged accordingly.
