Public sessions for BRT line from Scarborough to Oshawa on next week

The public engagement process for the Durham-Scarborough BRT line continues next week with virtual sessions on October 26 and October 28.
The public process for the 36-kilometre rapid bus line from Scarbough Town Centre to downtown Oshawa began last week. In addition to the virtual question-and-answer sessions, residents and other interested parties can review the project at https://www.metrolinxengage.com/en/engagement-initiatives/durham-scarborough-bus-rapid-transit-archived and respond until November 11.
The proposed BRT line would serve Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering and Scarborough along Highway 2. The improved transit across the Toronto and Durham boundary would link communities, employment, schools and other major destinations in the region.
The project aims to create seamless connections with local transit networks, providing the residents of Durham Region and the City of Toronto more flexibility and choice to get where they need to go, faster and more reliably.
Curbside bus lanes have already been constructed in Pickering and Ajax. Since the road has been widened to accommodate the infrastructure, construction costs and duration will be minimized in these areas.
