Public art will be celebrated in Oshawa on May 25 as the city continues to mark its centennial with events and special projects throughout the year.

Saturday, May 25 will be a day to explore public art scattered throughout the community and will feature inspiring artist talks while shining a spotlight on local artists and new public art projects in Oshawa.

The celebration will take place at the South Oshawa Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The artist talks will happen between 11 a.m. and noon and visitors can also enjoy story time at the Oshawa Library from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Art lovers can express their creativity by participating in a variety of ongoing drop-in activities or watch artists live painting over the course of the event.

“Explore the intersection of creativity and community as we showcase the diverse talents that contribute to public art in our city,” the City noted in a news release.
