The province is reporting 423 new COVID-19 cases today, August 8 (up 45 from yesterday) and six new deaths (down  three from yesterday). There are 109 new cases in Toronto, 57 in York Region, 51 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 42 in Hamilton, 29 in Windsor-Essex, 23 in Durham, 17 in Halton, and two in Niagara.

19,872,210 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario to date, including 46,970 doses administered yesterday, August 7.

Ontario marked three weeks on Friday since entering the third step of its pandemic reopening plan, but it has yet to hit the vaccination targets set for restrictions to roll back further, which means current restrictions will remain in place for now.

Today’s full case data is available at the province’s website.
