Province reports over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for second day in a row, 160 people in ICU

The province is reporting 1,053 new COVID-19 cases today, Dec. 4 (up 22 from yesterday) and eight more deaths, with the seven-day case average rising to 895.
There are 139 new cases in Toronto, 59 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 54 in York, 41 in Niagara, 33 in Hamilton, 30 in Halton, and 29 in Durham.
“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.4% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 494 of Ontario’s 1,053 new reported cases,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott.
160 people are in ICU due to136 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 24 are fully vaccinated.
23,913,372 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with 90.0% of Ontarians 12+ having received one dose and 87.3% having received two doses.
