Province reports 8,825 new COVID-19 cases, 187 people in ICU

The province is reporting 8,825 new COVID-19 cases today, Dec. 28 (down 593 from yesterday).

491 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 187 people are in ICU, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.

“The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 related patients in ICU is 171,” Elliott reports.

26,639,237 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, including over 144,000 doses administered yesterday, Dec. 27.

90.7% of Ontarians 12+ have received one dose while 88.0% have received two doses.
