Province reports 704 new COVID-19 cases, 67 in Mississauga and Brampton

The province is reporting 704 new COVID-19 cases today, Oct. 2 (up 36 from yesterday) and seven more deaths, with the seven-day average rising to 607.

There are 150 new cases in Toronto, 67 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 46 in York, 44 in Hamilton, 32 in Niagara, 15 in Halton, and 14 in Durham.

Of today’s 704 cases, it’s reported that 506 are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, and 198 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

162 people are currently in ICU with COVID-19, of which 155 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and seven are fully vaccinated.

21,847,046 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with nearly 86.4% of Ontarians 12+ having one dose and nearly 81.2% having two doses.
