Province reports 580 new COVID-19 cases, 163 people in ICU

The province is reporting 580 new COVID-19 cases today, Oct. 3 (down 124 from yesterday) and two more deaths, with the seven-day average falling to 596.

There are 110 new cases in Toronto, 85 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 42 in York, 28 in Niagara, 25 in Halton, 24 in Hamilton, and 23 in Durham.

Of today’s 580 cases, it’s reported that 407 are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, and 173 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

144 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with another 163 people in the ICU.

21,870,930 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with nearly 86.5% of Ontarians 12+ having one dose and 81.3% having two doses.
