Province reports 3,960 new COVID-19 cases, 557 in Mississauga and Brampton

The province is reporting 3,960 new COVID-19 cases today, Jan. 30 (down 895 from yesterday) and 58 more deaths, with the seven-day case average falling to 4,798.

There are 557 new cases in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 212 in Hamilton, 179 in Halton, 128 in Niagara region, and 119 in Durham.

3,019 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 587 people are in ICU with COVID-19, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.

30,558,597 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with 91.8% of Ontarians 12+ having received one dose and 89.2% having received two doses.

The province is set to begin reopening many of its indoor facilities this week, with gyms, restaurants, theatres and retailers allowed to reopen at 50 per cent capacity starting Monday, Jan. 31.
