Province reporting lowest daily cases since October, 112 in Mississauga and Brampton

Case counts are continuing to drop across the province, with 663 new cases of COVID-19 today (June 6) in Ontario — down 81 from yesterday and the province’s lowest daily count since October 18, 2020.
Ten more deaths have been reported, down 14 from yesterday.
There are 115 new cases in Toronto, 112 in Peel, 59 in Niagara, 47 in York Region, 40 in Ottawa, 33 in Hamilton, and 31 in Halton.
Since yesterday, 1,222 more cases are considered resolved and over 22,600 more tests completed.
To date, 9,992,575 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario.
Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott says the province is looking at ways to let Ontarians of all ages book second vaccine appointments by weeks or even months ahead of what was originally planned.

“We’re looking at all options because we need to stay ahead of this (Delta) variant so that we can then move into stage one and get life back more to normal for people as quickly as we can,” she said referring to the new name for the variant that came from India.
