Province reporting 857 new COVID-19 cases, 180 people in ICU

The province is reporting 857 new cases of COVID-19 today, September 11 (up nine from yesterday) and 15 more deaths (up four from yesterday), with the seven-day average lowering to 716.

There are 100 new cases in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 55 in Hamilton, 29 in Durham, 29 in Niagara, and 18 in Halton.

180 people are currently in ICU with COVID-19, of which 165 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 15 are fully vaccinated, says Health Minister Christine Elliott.

Of today’s 857 cases, 646 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, and 211 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

21,138,345 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with 84.3% of Ontarians 12+ having one dose and nearly 77.9% having two doses.
