Province reporting 854 new COVID-19 cases, 134 people in ICU

The province is reporting 854 new COVID-19 cases today, Nov. 27 (down 73 from yesterday) and two new deaths, with the seven-day case average rising to 729.

There are 97 new cases in Toronto, 48 in York, 47 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 27 in Durham, 22 in Halton, 21 in Hamilton, and 16 in Niagara region.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.7% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 474 of Ontario’s 854 new reported cases,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott.

134 people are currently in ICU with COVID-19, of which 123 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 11 are fully vaccinated.

22,895,217 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with nearly 89.4% of residents 12+ having received one dose and nearly 86.3% having received two doses.

As of Nov. 23, children aged five to 11 are now eligible to book an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
