Province reporting 811 new COVID-19 cases, 100 in Mississauga and Brampton

The province is reporting 811 new COVID-19 cases today, September 5 (down 133 from yesterday) and three new deaths (down six from yesterday), with the seven-day average rising to 757.

There are 100 new cases in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 71 in Hamilton, 46 in Durham, 42 in Niagara, and 33 in Halton.

266 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with 179 people in intensive care.

Of today’s new cases, 643 are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, and 168 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

To date, 20,950,000 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario, with 83.6% of Ontarians 12+ having one dose and nearly 77.1% having two doses.
