The province is reporting 4,250 new COVID-19 cases today (April 18) and 18 new deaths linked to the virus.
There are 1,392 new cases in Toronto, 714 in Peel, 483 in York Region, 279 in Durham, 239 in Ottawa, 151 in Hamilton, and 127 in Halton.
Since yesterday, 3,338 more cases are considered resolved and nearly 53,800 more tests completed.
The province says 3,837,881 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario to date.
The province announced harsh new restrictions on Friday to combat rising COVID-19 cases, but after widespread backlash, has decided to reopen playgrounds and roll back the police’s ability to randomly stop residents and ask why they aren’t at home.
Today’s full case data is available at the province’s website.
