Province reporting 373 new COVID-19 cases, 45 in Mississauga and Brampton

The province is reporting 373 new COVID-19 cases today, October 23 (down 119 from yesterday) and six more deaths, with the seven-day case average falling to 389.
There are 45 new cases in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 22 in Niagara region, 21 in Durham, 10 in Halton, and seven in Hamilton.
136 people are in ICU with COVID-19, of which 120 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 16 are fully vaccinated, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.
Of today’s 373 cases, 264 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 109 are in fully vaccinated individuals.
22,365,905 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with 87.8% of Ontarians 12+ having one dose and 83.7% having two doses.
Ontario plans to lift all COVID-19 public health measures by the end of March, including mask mandates. The province will be assessing key public health and health-system indicators – including the identification of new COVID−19 variants and increases in hospitalizations – in the coming months to ensure restrictions can be lifted safely.

“I’m going to be super cautious,” said Premier Doug Ford. “If we do not see numbers in a stable place we just aren’t going to do it.”
