The province is reporting 218 new COVID-19 cases today, August 1 (down 40 from yesterday) and two new deaths (down four from yesterday). There are 40 new cases in Toronto, 33 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 23 in York Region, 16 in Middlesex-London, 14 in Hamilton, 13 in Durham, five in Halton, and four in Niagara.

Since yesterday, 155 more cases are considered resolved and over 14,100 more tests completed.

19,519,781 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario to date, including 60,583 doses administered yesterday (July 31).

The province is currently in Stage 3 of its reopening plan. Although Ontario can move out of its “exist step” in the “Roadmap to Reopening” as early as August 6, the province says we are not yet ready to move into the next phase where we return to pre-pandemic life.

Today’s full case data is available at the province’s website.
