Two residential towers with almost 600 units have been proposed in the Town of Milton and the development will be up for discussion soon at an upcoming virtual statutory public meeting.

The development, proposed by 560 Main Street East Milton Inc., would feature two residential towers with grade-related commercial uses to be constructed on top of a mutual six-storey podium. The total height of the buildings is proposed to be 17 and 19 storeys respectively. A total of 588 residential units and 557 square metres of grade-related commercial spaces are also being proposed.

The applicant is also proposing a total of 548 parking spaces to serve both residents and visitors. Vehicular access to the development is being proposed from the Wilson Drive extension with three levels of underground parking in addition to surface-level parking spaces.

As a result of this proposal, an amendment to the Official Plan is required to add a special policy area to permit higher density and height. A Zoning By-law amendment is also required to add site-specific provisions to the zone to facilitate the proposed development of these lands.

This development will be up for discussion at an upcoming virtual statutory public meeting on Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m.

While this meeting will provide Milton residents with the opportunity to provide any feedback they may have, a decision will not be made by council at this meeting.

To participate, residents are required to fill out the delegate request form by Oct. 21 at 12:00 p.m.
