There are two more ways to keep cool in Brampton this summer now that the Professor’s Lake beach and Eldorado Park Outdoor Pool are open for the season.
With a beach, volleyball courts and a stocked snack bar, the Professor’s Lake beach and boathouse opened to the public on Wednesday (June 28). The beach is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the boathouse is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The Eldorado Park Outdoor Pool opened on Friday, and is available for public swimming Monday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Eldorado Park also has family-friendly features including two playgrounds and five picnic areas.
Bad weather may cause closures of the beach and the pool, and guests are encouraged to visit www.brampton.ca/summerfun for status updates before heading out.
You can also purchase recreation services in advance at www.brampton.ca/registerforprograms.
Be safe in the water
Residents are reminded to play it safe near water.
Always keep young children within arms’ reach around the water, never swim alone, and restrict access to backyard pools with fencing on all four sides.
Young children should wear life jackets when in the pool area or at the beach, and consider choosing lifeguard-supervised beaches and pools for swimming.
Empty unattended wading pools and buckets of water if not in use, and if you have a pool or cottage, ensure family members learn lifesaving skills.
