Pride Week kicks off in Durham; Pride Parade this Sunday in Ajax

Pride Week in Durham kicked off Sunday with a drag show and lunch at Slabtown Cider in Uxbridge and flag raisings took place all across the region today, with a social night scheduled for tonight at 5 Paddles Brewery in Whitby.
Other events for the week include Pride & Peace Yoga on Tuesday, a pop-up Art Hive (presented by the Living Room Community Art Studio) in Port Perry Wednesday and Movie Night on Thursday.
The Pride Kick-Off Party is Friday at Club 717 in Oshawa, featuring Juice Boxx, Helena Poison and Virgo Queen. Saturday has a dance party and youth pride events, and the week wraps up with the Durham Pride Parade Sunday at 1 p.m. at Arbour Park in Ajax.
The parade will be followed by a festival and vendor fair, with live music by Oshawa pop/punk band Far From Infamy and other acts.
