Pressurized tank explodes in Welland, wounds worker

A man is in hospital after a pressurized tank he was working on exploded in face inflicting second-degree burns.

The worker, in his 50’s, was cutting the tank with a torch at the Ridge Rd Ram Iron & Metal recycling centre. The tank burst and inflicted second-degree burns on his face and right side of his body.

Niagara Paramedics transported the man to Hamilton General for treatment.
