A winter storm is cancelling flights across North America including at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

“A powerful winter storm sweeping across the U.S. northeast…” Pearson Airport said in a post on X.

The storm today (Feb. 13) is forcing the cancellation of several flights departing and arriving at Pearson, including those to and from New York, New Jersey, Boston and Philadelphia.

The fast-moving storm was expected to bring over 15 centimetres of snow to some areas, according to news reports.

And another winter storm is expected to hit the Maritimes bringing 15 to 25 centimetres of snow later today.

Airlines have cancelled eight scheduled flights today from Pearson to Halifax Stanfield and four flights from Halifax Stanfield to Pearson, the airport said in the post.

As always, travellers may want to check the status of their flight before heading out.
