More than 300 homes and businesses on Hamilton Mountain were affected by a power outage late Friday afternoon (July 9).

Alectra Utilities stated in a tweet that the outage is in the area of Bendamere Avenue and Beckett Drive and from Pleasant Avenue to Auchmar Road. Crews have been dispatched and the expected time of resumption is 8 p.m.

There also appeared to be an outage along a stretch of York Boulevard, which connects the city’s downtown with Highway 403. Traffic signals were out at two intersections along the major thoroughfare and Hamilton Police Service had an officer directing traffic at one of them.

When traffic signals are out, drivers are to treat all intersections like a four-way stop.
