The second power outage of the day in Hamilton is expected to last until around midday, and is affecting some 1,600 residences and businesses.

Alectra Utilities says the outage is in an reverse L-shaped area in the area of Wentworth St. S. and Gage Ave. S., near Tim Hortons Field. A total of 1,653 customers were affected and the outage is expected to be resolved by 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Any intersections with affected traffic lights should be treated like four-way stops until the lights are working again.

Alectra’s progress at restoring service can be tracked at horizonutilities.com.
