UPDATE: Power outage impacting over 1,000 homes and businesses in Mississauga

UPDATE: As of 12:30 p.m., Alectra utilities reports that all power has been restored. However, anyone still without power is asked to call 1-833-ALECTRA.

There is a power outage affecting thousands of Mississauga residents today (Jan. 7)

Around 11:30 a.m., the utilities company Alectra, reported that approximately 1,143 homes and businesses were experiencing a power outage.

Some of the areas in Mississauga currently without power are highlighted by a map provided by Alectra. These include:

• Meadowvale
• Erin Mills
• Streetsville
• Port Credit
• Meadow Wood
• Clearview
• Cooksville

Authorities have not mentioned the cause of this outage.

The utilities company reported that crew have been dispatched to fix the issue and power is estimated to be fully restored by 2:30 p.m.
