Nearly 6,000 Alectra Utilities customers in Hamilton are without power Tuesday morning. The hydro company says the issue is still under investigation.

More than 2,000 Brampton homes and businesses were in the dark due to a power outage this morning (Oct. 28).

Alectra said some 2,164 homes and businesses in the area of Countryside Dr. to North Park Dr., and Bramalea Rd. to Airport Rd. were being impacted by the outage around 8:30 a.m.

About an hour later, Alectra said power had been restored to all but 111 homes and businesses.

Repair crews are on route and working on restoring service, and Alectra estimates the power will be back on around 11:00 a.m.
