Power outage has affected a large area of Mississauga

The power has gone out in a Mississauga neighbourhood, affecting 1,751 homes and businesses in the area

Electricity supplier Alectra says the outage is in Erin Mills, on the west side of the city.

The area that has been hit is between Winston Churchill Boulevard to the west, Erin Mills Parkway to the east, Highway 403 to the north, and The Collegeway to the South.

As of yet, the cause of the outage has not been determined.

Crews are in the area working towards restoring the service.

Repairs are expected to continue into the evening, with the power expected to return between 5 and 7 p.m.
