A hydro issue has been identified in a Brampton neighbourhood, causing just under 300 homes and business to lose power.

Alectra Utilities first reported the power outage at 1:55 p.m., saying crews have been dispatched to the location with 259 customers without power at the time.

The main area affected is from William’s Pkwy. to Vodden St. E. and from Kennedy Rd. N. to Centre St. N., containing the Kingswood Drive Public School.

Alectra says the cause of the power outage is due to a damaged cable in the Kingswood Dr. area.

The estimated time of power restoration is midnight tonight (Oct. 8).
