Power outage affecting close to 3,000 homes, businesses on east Hamilton mountain

Thousands of homes and businesses on the east Hamilton mountain are without power Wednesday (Sept. 15) morning.
According to Alectra Utilities, a limited power outage in the area of Upper Gage to Mount Albion Boulevard and Mohawk Road to Limeridge Road is affecting 2964 customers.
The utility provider said the cause of the outage is an ‘underground distribution problem’ andcrews have been dispatched to the area to make repairs.
The estimated return to power time is 10:30 a.m.
