Power knocked out in Hamilton, more than 500 customers affected

The lights are out for 572 customers in a Hamilton neighbourhood.

Alectra Utilities reports the power was lost in the area between Lawrence Rd. and Central Ave. from Gage Park to Kenilworth Ave. S.

The cause is currently under investigation and crews are working on the problem.

Power in this neighbourhood is expected to be back on early this afternoon (Dec. 3).

The outage occurred just after 9 a.m. this morning and reports indicate strong winds may be the cause.
