Possible man with a gun leads to hold-and-secure orders at two Brampton schools

Police put a pair of Brampton schools on hold-and-secure orders after a man with a gun was reportedly seen nearby.
The call came in just after 1 p.m. when Peel Regional Police say officers were alerted to a possibly armed man in the area of Bartley Bull Parkway and Main Street in Brampton.
Police said they received reports of a man with a gun in the area.
No injuries or threats to the public have been reported but police placed both Ridgeview Public School and John Knox Christian School on hold-and-secure orders as a precaution.
Police said to expect a police presence near the school as investigators continue to check the area for the man.
A police spokesperson said the hold-and-secure orders were lifted shortly before 3:30 p.m., but was unable to comment on whether any arrests had been made or if a weapon had been located by investigators.
Hold-and-secure orders are used by police as a precaution at schools and are considered less serious than a full lockdown.
