Possible firearms incident after shots fired in Brampton

Investigations continue after shots were allegedly fired near a four-way stop in Brampton this morning.
On Saturday (Sept. 23) at approximately 8:20 a.m., Peel Regional Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Clarkway Dr. and Countryside Dr.
Upon arrival, officers say they did not find any evidence of fireworks or vehicles leaving the area, initially prompting concerns about the nature of the incident.
According to police, a group of hunters were also located in the vicinity, who advised investigators that the sounds heard were allegedly related to the opening of duck hunting season.
Police are continuing to assess the situation to ensure public safety and to confirm that there are no risks associated with the reported shots fired in the area.
