11 more flights and potentially a hundred rows were affected by COVID-19 at Pearson Airport in Mississauga recently.

One domestic flight departed from Pearson for Calgary on March 10. The remaining 10 flights were international, all of which landed at Pearson from abroad between March 10 and March 13.

100 rows were reported to be affected, while the affected rows for the domestic flight and some international flights are currently unknown and not listed.

According to the federal government, a row is considered affected if it’s three rows behind or in front of a row where a seated person is confirmed to have COVID-19 “during a period when they may have been infectious to others.”

Passengers who were sitting in the affected rows (or all passengers on the flight if rows aren’t specified) are advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and contact public health if they start showing symptoms of the virus.

From February 1 to February 21, Peel police say they issued a total of 49 fines for travellers refusing the mandatory COVID-19 test at the airport.

Police have since turned over enforcement to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), which has yet to confirm its own enforcement plan, and may not have the ability to issue fines or stop those who simply bypass all protocols and walk out of the airport.

All flight data is listed on the federal government’s website.
