A man from Port Perry is out to “have fun” with his $100,000 Instant Ultimate scratcher winnings.

The winner, Franco Rende, 64 of Port Perry, was at Bay Wood Convenience on Bayly Street in Ajax when he noted the sleek black look of the Ultimate ticket.

Liking his odds, Rende, bought the $100 ticket. “I played my ticket in my vehicle. I scanned it using the OLG App and heard the winning tune,” he told the OLG, “I put my phone down, and then put my glasses on and took a second look and freaked out.”

He immediately called his wife, “She said, ‘This better be good!’ and when I told her about the win, she cried, and I laughed.”

Rende said he’ll be sharing the win with his wife and child saying, ” “I want to have fun with this money but I’m not sure what that looks like yet.”

The Ultimate scratchers have a one in 3.55 chance of winning any prize. There were 40 $1 million prizes drawn on December 31, 2022.
